Materials: 2 books: Not What I Signed Up For book, and separate study guide, by Nicole Unice. There are short videos on Right Now Media that go with this study. I will be utilizing these videos as an introduction to each lesson.
Description: At some point in our life, we have all experienced a pit, an unpredictable circumstance that knocked the wind out of our sails. In this painful place, it can be a challenge to keep our eyes on God, and to know that He is kind, purposeful, and intentional. We question who we are, why this is happening, and how this could possibly be the plan. Through the Biblical story of Joseph (Genesis chapters 37 – 50) we can discover how God uses the twists, turns, unexpected hard places, and in-between spaces to grow something essential in our soul. As we navigate Joseph’s story, and witness his eventual restoration and redemption unfold, we will find the strength, hope, and perspective to navigate a season we did not sign up for. In this season, we can cling to the promises of God: Do not be afraid; God is here; God has plans to accomplish good for you and through you.
