Barb Mathews

Kids' Ministry Director

Barb serves as the Kid’s Ministry Director at CCC,  bringing with her a deep love for Jesus, a passion for children, and a heart for helping others grow in their gifts. Her journey of faith began at age 15 when she encountered Christ at a Christian camp in FL and experienced the transforming power of a personal relationship with Him. That decision set the trajectory for a life devoted to serving God and others.

After sensing a call to missions in high school in CT, Barb earned a degree in elementary education from Clarks Summit University, in PA, and later served as a missionary in Ghana, West Africa, for 16 years alongside her husband and their five children. During that time, she combined her love for teaching and discipleship while investing deeply in the lives of families and children.

Since settling in Lancaster County in 2017, she has worked as a parent educator, substitute teacher, and mentor within several anti-human trafficking organizations. Her personal journey of healing and growth has deeply shaped her leadership style, giving her a strong commitment to authenticity, emotional health, and honoring each person’s story.

At CCC, she has served in small group leadership in both the Studio and Route56 ministries, where she discovered how much she thrives in relational ministry with kids. She is passionate about helping children know they are seen, valued, and loved by God, and about equipping volunteers to serve in ways that align with their unique gifts.

When she’s not at church, you can usually find her spending time with her adult children, enjoying meaningful conversations with friends, or continuing to grow in her own walk with the Lord.
